Who’d’a thunk it?
Ten years ago, we were a bunch of starry-eyed dreamers who thought we could put on a nice little show and raise a little money for the most important cause we knew.
How wrong we were. Turns out we can put on a great big show and–with your help–raise a bunch of money for the best cause we know. And this year, with Tonic Gallery, a kids’ music event, and music on three-count-’em-three Tonic Ball stages, Tonic is going to be bigger and more fun than ever. It all happens Friday, November 18 in beautiful Fountain Square.
The big news: three stages means we’ve covering three musical artists this year. We’ve got a great lineup: the songs of Michael Jackson at the Fountain Square Theatre; the songs of R.E.M. at Radio Radio; and across the street at our newest venue, the White Rabbit Cabaret, the songs of David Bowie.
If you were lucky enough to snag a ticket last year, you saw set after spectacular set of Beatles songs performed at the Fountain Square Theatre and Radio Radio. For the first time in Tonic history, Tonic Ball was a sellout.
This year, with another stage, we’ll have more capacity and more tickets available. But why wait? Don’t just mark your calendar: beat the rush and order your Tonic Ball ticketsright now.
One more stage means 50 percent more music–which also means we can accommodate 50 percent more bands. Good news Number 9, featuring Well Done’s own Scott Woolgar and Brian Deer (and our pal Matt Mays) performs at Tonic Ball 9. They are probably digging a pony.
if you’re interested in playing. If so, drop us a note at our Band Interestpage, and we’ll get back with you once we’ve sorted through the pile. Please understand: an expression of interest is not a guarantee you’ll get to play the show. Let’s just say your chances are 50 percent better this year.
An it’s all to benefit Second Helpings–who, along with us, are still a bunch of starry-eyed dreamers saving the world one rescued plate of food at a time.
Watch the Tonic Indy site for updates about Tonic Ball, Tonic Gallery, Tiny Tonic, the artists, the bands, etc., etc. We’ promise you: we’re gonna celebrate the big one-o in style.
P.P.S.: Don’t miss the Tonic Preview Party Friday night, August 5, at Radio Radio. (You’re doing First Friday in Fountain Square anyway, right?) Doors at 6:30. Music by Neon Love Life and Red Light Driver at 7. Details here.
