All weight loss plans, from diets to exercise to surgery, try to entice new customers with “before-and-after” pictures. Why? Because they work. It’s inspiring to see people who’ve lost a lot of weight, and to compare the way they look now with the way they used to look.

But before-and-after photos don’t tell the whole story—as the success of The Biggest Loser demonstrates very well. And weight loss surgery is an important and difficult decision. So for the St.Vincent Bariatric Center of Excellence at St.Vincent Carmel Hospital, we proposed something different: a campaign that would allow people to follow the progress of patients from weight loss surgery until they reached their final goal.

To tell the world, we created television commercials, print ads, direct mail, and other promotions and directed interested parties to a new website, MyBrandNewLife.org. At the site, visitors can track the progress of five weight loss surgery patients with videos, blogs, and stories about what they’re experiencing—and get weight loss tips, recipes, and lots more.

The site attracts thousands of visitors a month—over 30 percent of whom come back multiple times to see how St.Vincent patients are doing. They’re also signing up for free seminars and consultations—which means more patients for Indiana’s most experienced weight loss surgery program.
