Working with amateur talent is every director’s nightmare. “Sure, she’ll be fine. Trust me, she’s a natural.” Sure. How many times have we heard that one before?
Every so often, though, it turns out to be true. Such was the case with Julie Schnieders, women’s health nurse practitioner at St.Vincent. Julie’s also been blogging, podcasting, and being a great spokesperson for 3384HER.com, the women’s health information site sponsored by St.Vincent Women’s Services, for about a year.
Still, television’s a different animal. You never quite know what you’re going to get when you put someone in front of the camera…
…unless it’s Julie. In which case you can be pretty sure you’re going to get Julie, who’s every bit as charming on TV as she is in person. We shot four fifteen-second spots in a whirlwind day–thanks to Matt Mays of Mays Entertainment and Bill Baker of Hi-Def Pictures; our most excellent producer Mark Carrel; our agency partners at St. Claire Group; our outstanding clients at St. Vincent; and the entire crew of usual suspects. As per usual, we had fun behind the scenes. We think it shows onscreen.
