Opening the Office. COVID Style.

2 min read

Indianapolis is moving toward Phase 5 of the Safe Start to Summer plan. So, we’ve decided it is the right time to unlock the doors at Well Done Marketing and are going back to the office.

Sort of.

Some of us are going back. Some of us are still going to work from home. Not that we can’t accommodate everyone safely in our Fountain Square home away from the home office. With a combination of plastic dividers and social distancing, our 30-person team can all be in the office at one time.

But we’ve made appearing in person voluntary—and it will stay that way through the end of the year. There are a couple of reason why:

  1. It’s the right thing to do. Several of our staff have young kids at home for the summer. Some have elderly parents they worry might contract COVID-19 through them. There are others who are just not ready to work in close quarters again. That’s perfectly okay. The health and safety of our team comes first.
  2. We don’t have to be together to get our work done. If we’ve learned anything in the last three months, it’s that we are adaptable and resourceful. Ours is the kind of work that can be done from 30 remote offices. We’ve all gone out of our way to stay in touch personally as well as professionally. In many ways, our work has gotten better because we’ve had to adjust how we focus on it.

Do we want to have everyone back in the office someday? Absolutely. Nothing replaces the camaraderie that comes from working on something side by side. But for now, we’re keeping hallway conversations at a corridor’s length, and moving through the office means you have to mask up. And as much as we’d like to see you, we are asking clients and vendors—and the people on the hunt for La Margarita tacos next door—to put off their visits a little longer.

For those who have been to Well Done before, you may start seeing a familiar Zoom background behind some of our folks as we return to our neglected offices and water our new plants. And when the time is right, we’ll have the hand sanitizer and spare face masks ready for you.
